Jennifer Alfano

Jennifer Alfano, who spent the last 15 years as a writer and editor at Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar (where she held the title of fashion features director), has always been preoccupied with fashion. Obsessed with finding the right handbag but unsuccessful in her search, Jennifer decided to create a small line of luxury bags to suit her editor’s eye and her friends’ needs. The result is Jennifer Alfano, a line of understated statement totes, shoulder bags and clutches, which are inspired by the sophisticated, sporty attitude of the 60s when restraint and elegance in dressing were encouraged. The bags are the cleaned-up antidote to everything that is over-designed today. They are modern but ultimately classic in style.Produced in Florence, Italy, the handcrafted bags are cut from the finest Italian leathers and exotics, with jewelry-based signature hardware. The line has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and The New York Times Style Magazine.Jennifer, who grew up in the South–Charleston, S.C., Virginia and Dallas, moved to New York City to attend NYU where she studied journalism. She has lived in and around the city ever since and currently resides in Westchester with her husband and two young daughters.
