Crouch & Fitzgerald Corp

Crouch & Fitzgerald was established in downtown Manhattan in 1839, in the days when only the rich traveled, and when finely crafted luggage was the order of the day. The store first became known for its custom-made luggage service when Franklin Delano Roosevelt commissioned a full set of leather luggage embossed with his initials. Using only the finest leather, skilled craftsmen made these cases by hand- stitching selected hides on steel frames. Genuine Irish linen lined the inside of the cases. Solid leather straps were sewn to the base of the body, and shiny brass lever action locks completed the design.
