Aigle was established in 1853 by American Hiram Hutchinson. Hutchinson started his company in France as a means to promote and sell his revolutionary new rubber coats, shoes, and boots. He named his new company, “A’ L’Aigle” as a tribute to the American symbol of freedom, the bald eagle. Today, Aigle has matured into a global brand with over 125 stores world wide. In 2003, Aigle’s global presence exploded when it signed an agreement with Dillard’s Department Stores. This agreement established Aigle in the United States with the addition of over 325 Dillard’s stores. Aigle specializes in active and casual outdoor clothing. All Aigle products are designed to protect people from the elements as they engage in a variety of outdoor activities and are based on three common principles: quality, function, and gimmick-free elegance.
