Key Prints & Silhouettes

Vintage Versace

It’s not a surprise that the Vintage Versace look is such a sought after trend following the Versace + H&M collaboration! The easiest way to capitalize on this trend is through the defining ornate 80’s Versace inspired print motifs and colors, preferably in slinkier fabrics with luster and sheen. Wallis and Topshop present a modern take on this trend with simple easy-to-wear pieces, while River Island goes for the printed bomber look seen in street style.

Cricket Chic

Inspired by Christopher Kane, the UK “High Street” presents a feminine look of the cricket sweater. Womanly elegance updates sports looks at all levels. Signature detailing such as classic cable knit texture and V-neck detailing with contrast colored tipping are retained, and softened by feminine pastel colors. This look can be styled in lots of versatile ways, from combining it with washed denim cut-offs or denim capri pants, to wearing over short sexy summer skirts topped off with boat shoes.

Jersey Stripe Update

Summer is not complete with some upbeat stretch cotton jersey stripes. The two-tone yard dyed stripe is being used across various products, not just basics, and further enhanced with value added trims and paneling. The environmentally friendly Chinti Parker brand are color blocking their pocket to give a striped pencil skirt a fresh look, while Sonia Rykiel combines three colorways with mismatch sleeves. Cross-grain Pattern cutting and uneven stripe widths provide other ways to add a twist.

Luxe Active

Color pop brights are applied to sporty shapes to give them an activewear stance. A clean look and smooth performance finishes give a luxury sports feel. Brights are almost fluoro in their intensity. One or two brights can be combined with charcoal or black for a more sophisticated look. Shapes and detailing are inspired by sport, featuring racer fronts, piping, curved panels and anorak detailing.
