Color & Finish Direction
Contemporary Retailers take note!Initially emerging on Spring/Summer 2012 catwalks, Candy Foil is a directional color for 2013’s summer collections - the following Trend Validation is a taster from Trendstop’s Trend Forecast Color Spring/Summer 2013 report.
Spring/Summer metallics gleam with vivid hues, evoking the distinctive color and texture of confectionery wrappers. Green-gold pants at Theyskens’ Theory catch the light with a papery foiled effect, and Diesel Black Gold’s all-over silver jacket hints at a sci-fi influence. Meanwhile, Unique’s rose gold dress shimmers with fluid appeal, and Sportmax use indigo foil to accent a transparent shirt.

As per Trendstop’s trend forecast, Candy Foil has been carried through into Spring/Summer 2013 styles. Fluid eveningwear surfaces again, as seen in dresses at Alberta Ferretti and Blumarine’s, while Aigner interpret the trend with an embellished belt accessory. Taking their cues from Sportmax’s Spring/Summer 2012 foil accented shirt, Burberry offers an all-over metallic purple design.
