Find the Right Sales Rep

When trying to find the right sales rep to represent your brand, it is important to be well versed and market savvy about your own products and to provide them with the right tools and information to help bolster sales. For example, if you are in the accessories business, you need to be able to provide them with all market week dates, trade show dates, as well as information about where the products are made, delivery timelines, quality of materials, cost of materials and press that has mentioned the products in the last 12-18 months.

All of this information will help your rep to best express the quality and condition of the products they are purchasing, as well as provide much needed information about deliveries and construction of the pieces. No buyer will be interested in products that the rep knows little about as this would be considered a warning sign that the rep is not well versed in the products and that they may be too new to know if there are problems within the system or manufacturing process.

As a business owner, it is also your responsibility to learn as much as you can about your business and how to maintain and grow the business. This can only be achieved through truly understanding your products, your customers and the business strategy being utilized to promote and grow the business. Therefore, we encourage visiting your own factories, meeting with fabric or trim vendors personally and being a part of as many meetings as possible. This will consistently put a familiar face with the brand and promote your own belief in the brand and its future.
